Underwater Engagement Shoot: Taking the Plunge

Meagan and Jim are very excited to “take the plunge” into marriage! So this daring couple decided to do something fitting for their Save-the-Date card engagement photo… they decked themselves out in full wedding ensembles, and got drenched!

With the help of a waterproof camera casing, and some creative maneuvering, our True team dove right in with them. The resulting photos were captured at the bottom of Jim’s parents’ large underground pool in Fallbrook, CA.

Desert Inspired Engagement Shoot in Joshua Tree

Amy and John chose to tie the knot at the Ultimate Skybox, on the top floor of the exquisite and contemporary Diamond View Tower, in the heart of downtown San Diego. You can’t get much cooler than that! So for their engagement photos, they wanted to mix it up and do something a little different.

Because this fun couple lives near Palm Springs, we headed out to Joshua Tree National Park. The desert was the perfect backdrop for their engagement shoot, including distinctive rock formations, and the twisted branches of native Joshua Trees. It was quite a stark contrast to the glamour of their wedding location! We hope you enjoy these engagement photos from our shoot with Amy and John:

A Vintage Inspired Engagement Shoot at the San Diego International Airport

After dating long-distance for three years, Madeline and John felt like the airport was their second home. So when discussing engagement shoot ideas, there was one place that came to mind above all others – the airport! To recreate the long-distance travel experience, we took a trip down to the San Diego International Airport, and photographed this fun commuter couple.

Since a friend of the couple charters private planes at the airport, we were granted access to the tarmac to do our thing, which made for cool photos! The colorful luggage was a great enhancement to the shoot, and the couple even brought along a customized luggage tag embossed with their wedding date. Move over, Christina Ricci and the cast of ABC’s Pan Am. This high flying couple has a vintage flair that is all their own. We hope you enjoy the photos below!

No need to be tame at the San Diego Zoo

Cari and Aaron wanted to do something a little bit unique, while still staying true to their personalities. Because Cari works at the San Diego Zoo, and Aaron recently moved to town from Arizona, the Zoo seemed like a perfect San Diego landmark for this fun couple’s engagement shoot!

We had a blast roaming around the park, and Cari and Aaron were like kids on a playground. The lighthearted shoot was centered around the two of them getting comfortable, hanging out, and laughing like they normally would. There were secluded areas of the zoo where it seemed as if they were alone in the jungle, and other spots that were more sociable – including a moment where they hoola-hooped alongside 20 children in front of a live band! From a silly pose in the photo booth, to a romantic ride on the Skyfari tram, the shoot was a perfect balance of sweet moments.

Sporty couple takes the field for Petco Park engagement shoot

For Jamie and Ben’s engagement shoot, we headed down to Petco Park in downtown San Diego. Since we had access to the field, we were able to photograph them being silly in the bullpen, sitting alone in the stands, holding hands in the dugout, and stepping up to bat at home plate! We also found a few brightly colored and textured walls, which provided great backgrounds for their photos.

This incredibly photogenic couple is getting married on May 27, 2012 in San Diego. They even wore to customized Padres shirts during the shoot so we could take a picture to be included in their Save the Dates. Check out the results below, and let us know what you think!
